CEQA Notice of Intent to Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration for Redway Community Services
District’s Redway Wastewater Infrastructure Improvement Project
In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Section 15072 and Public
Resources Code Section 21092, the Redway Community Services District is providing notice of intent to
adopt a mitigated negative declaration (MND) of environmental impact for the “Redway Wastewater
Infrastructure Improvement Project” as described here. The public is invited to comment on the proposed
MND pursuant to the provisions of CEQA. The review period is 30 days and commences on December 9,
2022 and ends on January 9, 2023. Written comments must be submitted to the Redway Community
Services District no later than 5:00 pm on January 9, 2023. The Initial Study and proposed MND
document is available for review during regular business hours at the Redway Community Services
District located at 1150 Evergreen Road #2 in Redway, California, at the Humboldt County Library located
at 1313 Third Street in Eureka, California, and online at www.rcsd.org. Per CEQA Guidelines Section
15072(g)(5), no known hazardous waste facilities or disposal sites exist within the Project Area.
The Redway Community Services District proposes to rehabilitate and replace aging infrastructure at the
wastewater treatment facility to provide better reliability and increase wastewater treatment capacity to
provide sufficient treatment capacity during wet weather events. The Project would also improve lift
station operations by installing equipment to support maintenance activities, replacing aging pumps and
installing communications and monitoring equipment to provide automation and remote monitoring.
For further information, or to request a copy of the Initial Study and proposed MND, please contact the
Redway Community Services District at (707) 923-3101 or redwaycsd@gmail.com.
The Redway Community Services District plans to consider adoption of the MND at a regularly scheduled
meeting likely on or around January 18, 2023.
